Welcome!
I am Alex Ramirez, a Ph.D. student at the California Institute of Technology.
I grew up in Tucson, Arizona and on this website, you will find a collection of my research, interests, and hobbies.
I graduated from The University of San Diego in December of 2021 with two degrees:
• B.S./B.A. in Electrical Engineering
• B.S. in Physics
Now, I study experimental physics at Caltech, including instrumentation for LIGO, the detection of quantum gravity, and digital holography for autonomous marine microbiology classification.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling and sports such as soccer, baseball/softball, pickleball, and snowboarding.
I consider myself the creative type and thus also enjoy producing and writing music, photography, and digital art.
